A little about me:
Hi! My name is Mindy Ostrom, and I have been teaching in Denver Public Schools for 20 years. I have experience in grades K-5. I have been a literacy facilitator for the district, and a Senior Team Lead. I realized that my true passion lies in the classroom, so am excited to return to full time teaching!
When I'm not at school, I am getting used to a semi-empty nest situation at home. We have two sons: John is 19, and Luke is 17. Both boys have played competitive hockey since they were little. Those of you who have kids busy with extracurricular activities know that this becomes what you do and who you are. So I have been a hockey mom for a lot of years. Now that the boys are older, Luke is attending high school in Canada at a hockey academy, and John is finishing up a gap year before attending school at DU. My husband, Dan, and I are adjusting to having some free time on our hands! We spend time outdoors with our two dogs, and fit in golf when we can. I am learning a little about fly fishing...we'll see how that goes!
I'm excited to be your teacher this year, and I cannot wait to meet you all!
