Majestic View Nature Center Field TripWe had a great time on our field trip today! We studied life cycles, wetland animals and insects! We walked in the rain down to a pond to see an actual wetland habitat, and looked for animals there.

Week of Sept 16, 2019Wow-- I cannot believe it's already week five! We have been so busy, I have not made the time to post!
We have finished our first unit of Reading, and are moving into a deeper look at people around the world gaining access to reading and education. We are drafting short stories mimicking a mentor text in writing, and some of us are going to test for Unit 1 in math next week! Whew! In the midst of this, we are AR quizzing and reading and taking notes for reading group discussions. We are very busy, and working at a very fast pace! Thanks so much for sending kids to school who are ready to do this work every day. We are excited for our first field trip-- permission slips went home yesterday in Thursday folders. Thanks to the parent who has stepped up to volunteer. It would be great to have one more person, at least! Week of August 19, 2019 |
Whew! First week of Third Grade is in the books! It has been an incredible week, with an incredible group of kids!
Some highlights of the week: The kids did a first writing sample for me to check out. The prompt was "Who is the most amazing person you know, and why?" Be sure to ask your kids who they wrote about! We played a really fun team building game that was a cup stacking game with a twist-- no hands allowed! Teamwork was a must, and the kids were so great with each other. We liked it so much we played it twice! We have worked as a class all week to give our input to what will be our "Class Contract" for how we as a class want our classroom to run. Things we are working hard on: Being able to get into line order and move quietly in the hallways. |
